Hi ❣ It’s so nice to see you,- like always 🧡 I hope all is fine with you during the days and weeks we all are going through 🧡
It’s not s easy this time we all are going through, together, now 🧡. Some will turn the time back, some will turn the time forward, some will the time to just stop up, and some are just waiting in the time, but must of us want to have “this time” we are in to just be over, be the past.
It’s not easy to define “the time” either. It’s a very abstract term. Einstein defined time in relation to physics and mathematics. What we can say about the term “time” is that it is a term used for the constant movement of various events from past, present, future. And the present is the one that can only really be experienced as real.
We know that time is measured in years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. And time was born with the universe about 13.6 billion years ago. Duration of time varies from event to event. And we use clock and calendar to “measure” time. “The time” is very difficult to explain and define, in one way it can’t be explained either, but still we do, and still we try.
History is also about time, and different happenings and events that’s has happen in the past. In general history is about the human and what we have being doing, or how we have being doing different things and stuff in life. One by one, or in smaller or bigger group. But history is also about the history of the universe and the earth.
The time we all are in now will be our history one day, our past. And we use our calendars and watches to count down, count down to this “coronavirus and Covid19” time is over. But it has been different seriously happenings in humans life before this new time age we are going through,- and then they used the water as well as the nature and special the sun to measure different events, such as a measuring instrument to try to measure different events between two times. And time, – the trader’s duration. Duration can be from one hour to one season, or years.
We all have “our time”, “our history” and most of us have also our own watches so we can follow the time.
The first watch that’s was actually created to be able to help the human follow up the time, was sundial. And sundial has existed since 500 before our time, and was made in China and in Egypt. It is also referred to a kind sundial in the Old Testament of the Bible. In other words, we humans have almost always had a need to define various events in our lives using the term time. And to be honest, I don’t know how I could manage to define various events in my life without being able to use, explain and tell by using the clock and calendar, the term time. Do you?
So,- when I was philosophizing about this with time, history, and clocks, I thought of the various clocks that I have had and which I still have, and the various small, simple stories I remember about my clocks. My kind of history in my life.
I got my first wristwatch to my 7 year birthday, and I got it from my grandmother and grandfather, my dad’s parents. I was so proud and so happy, and I did take really good care of it. I still have it.
I did use this watch until I was around 13- 14 years old. At that age I did baby- sitting our neighbours children and did earn my first money, and I did save them for to buy a new watch. So for my own first “salary” I did buy a watch to myself.
I don’t have this watch anymore, but I still remember it. It’s easy a fancy plastic watch, and the colour was light mint blue, actually. And when I did press at the watch belt came with peppermint scent from the belt. I could change the belt and scent, and remember I also had a pink scent that smelled like strawberries. It was m dad who was with me when I bought my second wristwatch 😊.
It was also my dad that gave me my third wristwatch 😊. I was around 17 years old, and had been sick for some weeks with mononucleosis. Actually more then just some weeks, most of the summer, and one day my dad come with a presents to my. My third wristwatch, and he had choose it totally on his own, just for and to me 😊. I still have this watch too. A really good memorie from not the best days in my life 😊.
This watch I did have for many years, and it have been with my through my birth with my first and second child. Very easy to remember,- because I really did “watch the time” when I was in birth with my children 🧡. But my ex- husband was not the biggest fan of this watch, so I think it was for my birthday in 1998 he gave me a new wristwatch 😊. And I still have that one too. But it’s not in function anymore, I actually did try to change battery twice in it after we did move to Spain, but it want go. My plan was to use it when I was working in the home nursery here in Spain, instead of using my mobile 😊.
My next and fifth wristwatch I did bought myself to myself, and that was after the divorce in 2002. I still have that one too 😊. A big wristwatch with a tiny glitter and glam, a “symbol” for “my time” and a new time in my life 😊.
And for a couple of years ago I did buy another wristwatch for my self, just because I did like it. In it’s own way it was “me”. But I haven’t used it very much, so it’s stopped, and I need to fix it,- one day.
I stopped wearing wristwatch many years ago. After a Autumn, Winter and Spring when I felt “all” I did, “all” my children did, and “all” we did was to “run” after the time, always reach something. So when the Summer did come, I put my wristwatch away, and haven’t been using it very much after. I still follow the time, reach my “thing”, appointment and work, because I use the watch at my mobile. But I like watches as a nice bracelet. Maybe I start using a wristwatch again daily one day, maybe not. It felt like a kind of “freedom” to not have it, use it, watch it,- that’s also why I never did started using wristwatch again after that summer without.
Well, – there were a few philosophical thoughts about time and history, and a little about my wristwatches. We all have past and different stories. This time we are together now gives us a common story, while each of us has our own experiences and stories, perhaps share one day too.
I wish you a great day or evening wherever in the world you are 🧡. Use your time well, create small memories and stories that can be nice to tell one day 🧡. Thank you so much for dropping by my blog today too 🧡
See you soon 😊
I don’t use wristwatch very much anymore, but I still have most of my wristwatch I have got since I was a child ⌚. And in different ways they have their own time and history in and about my life to remember, and also to tell. Small stories, but big for me in my life 😊.
